The 70th Independence Day Celebrations will be observed with full passion from the 7th to the 14th of August 2017. Some of the activities include flag hoisting at 9 am on the day preceded by a pause in all activities at 8.58 am and heralded by sirens to announce the flag hoisting, display of photos of national heroes at prominent places, decoration of office buildings with flags and buntings, cake cutting, patriotic songs, and walks. National flag badges will be worn on dresses from the 1st of August 2017.
