Unprotected sex (without condoms) puts a woman at higher risk of getting the pelvic inflammatory disease (PID); further, a woman’s chance of contracting an infection, from her male partner and passing on other blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis- B or C to her partner during her periods are greater. A woman is also more likely to develop yeast or bacterial infections like candidiasis or bacterial vaginosis because the vagina’s pH during menstruation is less acidic. |
