An Obstetric/Gynae Consultative Family Planning Network has been constituted to ensure the involvement of OB/GYN service providers in family planning issues. The committee, chaired by the Secretary Population Welfare, comprises of Heads of Gynae/ Obs Departments of leading government hospitals in Lahore, Country Director, and Associate Director Population Council Islamabad, in addition to key officers of the Population Welfare Department Punjab as members. The Committee will take measures to improve coordination between OB/GYN Departments and Family Health Clinics in all public and private sector hospitals; work for coordination with private sector family physicians for their involvement in FP services; interact with SOGP and Pakistan Society of Family Physicians for coordination in FP service provision, and take measures to improve FP services in Tertiary Care Hospitals.
