Secretariat

The provincial setup is responsible for the execution and implementation of the Population Welfare Program within the provincial policy framework and under the policy of the government. The execution of the Population Welfare Program in the province rests with the Provincial Population Welfare Department Secretariat which is administratively headed by the Secretary.

Secretary

Secretary Population is the official Head of the Department, responsible for efficient administration and discipline, and proper conduct of the rules of business assigned to the department. He is responsible to the Minister for the business of the department and keeps the Minister informed about the working of the department. Further responsibilities include execution of sanctioned policy, operational planning, provision of budget to all field formations, and ensuring accessibility of a full range of quality family planning services to clients. Secretary also monitors and evaluates the program and coordinates with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, and other provincial government departments.

Additional Secretary Admin and Finance

Additional Secretary (A&F) discharges duties under rules 1.5 of Manual of Secretariat Instructions and deals with all administrative and financial matters of program personnel with special reference to service rules, career planning, and human resource development. Additional Secretary (A&F) is the competent authority in respect of secretariat staff in BS 1-15 and is authorized to deal with the business of Provincial Assembly. He is assisted by two Deputy Secretaries and four Section Officers.

Additional Secretary Technical

Additional Secretary (Tech) is responsible for policy planning, overall execution and monitoring, and medical aspects of service delivery components. The duties include preparation of policy plans for implementation of Family Planning Reproductive Health Services through Family Health Clinics (FHCs), Mobile Service Units (MSUs), and Family Welfare Centers (FWCs). Additional Secretary (Tech.) is also responsible for capacity building through professional trainingĀ and coordination with Health Department and other District Technical Committees. Additional Secretary (Tech) is assisted by one Deputy Secretary and two Section Officers.
